Secret of Mana Title: SNES

"Picturebook of timeless magnitude.."

date: April 5, 2008

Such simple and gravity pulling songs always get to me:) Nostalgia rises and hilarity in the form of dancing ensues=/ not a pleasant sight^_^

Anyway, this is just too much dude, such a classic tune and game. Words fail to capture its quality. Memories indeed enfold and this is where adventures are made from! Your keys on this very exceptionally pretty;)

I'm in for a short review I fear, nothing left to say! This is beautiful. Trees with faces, a goofy adventurer with a floppy hat and rusty sword, and a journey just waiting to be fulfilled pretty much sums up this piece:D Very captivating and legendary the SNES music days were;)

"Augmented in splendid realism.."

date: April 5, 2008

Well, Kelwynshade, I must say you've outdone yourself once again. Every tone, drop of a melody, and sound is effectively collaborated into a rather fine piano piece. Easy to the ears and exquisitely looped to create a non-existent gap.

Is this an original piece, man? If so, astonishing scoring on this bad boy=P really creates a mood of beauty and a tangent of loneliness. Great for a walking into the wind scene or whilst a loved one slowly departs^_^ Gosh is all your material fresh and vibrant with skill. I hope you continue to amaze us listeners with each and every piece you put forth, as you can tell you give your all.

Basically, another masterpiece. Deserves a place on a well known flash.

Falling Farther (Trance Remix)

"Ragnarok explosions of trance ^_^"

date: March 29, 2008

Kinda hits you in the face instantly, like seriously my face melted off=P

This has nice variation and progression also really hits the right spots at the right times. I love how it kinda dies around 2:20 and slowly and creatively builds itslef back up for another explosion of awesome trance:D The use of instruments during the calm was expertly crafted as well.

This could def be used in a club or be put on a cd :) seriously it's THAT good of a trance song. Should prob consider DJ-ing one day, I'm sure you'd be great at it and obviously enjoy it man.

I literally see no means of improvement, there were no mistakes or errors to be found by my ears.

Keep up this work, you'll be seeing more reviews from me in time.

Author's Response:

Ouch, you're the second person to say that! What is it with my music and melting people's faces off? D:

It does really hit hard with that WHAM in the beginning, though, one of my favorite parts in the song. :D

I'm probably going to put this on a promotional CD I plan to release within a month or two. It definitely IS one of my best. :P

There are plenty of mistakes in there in my opinion, but I'm not going to ruin it for you if you think it's a perfect song. ;D Besides, I made the song - it's natural, right? ;)

Thanks for the review and the high ratings, glad you liked it! :D

"Dreamily Satired..."

date: March 29, 2008

Have flipped through your stuff and my oh my is it impressive man:) The clarity you present with such emotional and yet subtle melodies is just daunting.

Anyway, I love how this piece works its way slowly into the main portion of the song and its mellow nature is extremely relaxing and soothing to the ears. The melody is tempting and slightly magical and mysterious^_^ allows the listener to imagine artistic images, which is wonderful.

Your ambient work is simply the best Newgrounds possesses and I hope you continue to contribute to us, for your material keeps some of us going man.

Anything short of a 10 would be robbing you.

Polar Groove

"Harsh, rigid icy winds..."

submission: Polar Groove
date: March 29, 2008

Blowing and howling as they scream across the sky and brush along your face, creating pink blushes on soft cheeks.

Extremely touching song and amazing presence of emotions in such a simple song. you did this was a grand deed and I'm blown away by your skill at remixing this one. It's simply ductile and riveting and at the same time tangible enough to get a real grasp on.

Loved your use of keys and found them hitting at the perfect moment. Creates a lush picture in my head and was a overly pleasant tune to listen to.

Great job, this is outstanding work.

Is this song gorgeous, I've always loved it. Its one of the few I can listen over and over and never seems to phase me on how much I love it. The tranquil ambiance and involving keys and melodies are so amazing and I love how you added a unique twist on how the keys were arranged:) made it different in your style, which is always appreciated. Then of course around 1:50 or so it starts picking up and the song becomes even more gorgeous 10 fold.

I've listened to every version Newgrounds has to offer of this song and it still touches me and creates vast wonder in my eyes, nothing short of a 10.

Author's Response:

You've listened to every version? Send the best to be [link], I want to listen!! :D:D.

Anyhow, once again you surprise me with your review and the fact that you have listened to pretty much all that Newgrounds has to offer and yet you still find it within you to give me a 10/10. Which is quite nice.

But I have heard from many people that this song should have been done differently. Perhaps add a deeper, darker tone in the beginning that leads up above the abyss to something approaching happiness or shall I dare say...tranquility? I don't know, any suggestions? I mean, I plan on doing this one again and I hope to meet expectations.

Anyhow, I am rambling...thanks for the review (as always), and another 10/10...btw I like your name...maybe I will use it for a song I have in mind :P.

"ohhh nice spikepit:)"

date: March 27, 2008

I can see your material is getting steadily of higher quality man! ^_^ which is very much great for yourself. First off, I must say seeing a megaman 2 remix in metal starts with a brownie point or two=P which is an awesome concept.

This could def fit a flash very very easily and probably will in due time, just wait for a megaman submission or two and I bet this shall be clinged upon it;) Hell I'd use it if I wasn't an asshat moocher and did some goddamed flash

*ahem anyway, I really love the mellow and background(ic) nature of this piece, very easy to follow and not ear grinding at first listen. Just doesn't leave a memorable stamp my man:( which is a very difficult task. I'm not really sure where this fell short, just wasn't *Supreme*. Now don't get me wrong, still flash worthy and def deserves an 8 and 4/5

Wish I could be more assistance on improving. All I can say is this wasn't bad mate:D

Mario 64 Menu Screen Remix

"It's a me! Mario!"

date: March 26, 2008

Nearly pissed myself upon finding this dude. Smooth and creative remix to an adorable song, especially to us older folks who were toddlers when it came out.
The amount of nostalgia you've created over the last minute and a half is staggering^_^

As for my review, it was simply catchy as hell and I could probably listen to it over and over again. Quality work from a quality artist. Wish you could go through some of the older games such as mario and perhaps give a go at some remixes, probably would be barrels of fun and laughs as well as turn out a nice track or two as well=P

Keep at this bro, it was ear quenching.

Synthesized Dreams

"Synth Indulgence"

submission: Synthesized Dreams
date: March 26, 2008

I love the style this one has over some of your other works, very slow yet still powerful in it's own way. Carries over nicely and shows you know how to create different kinds of music and don't find yourself in some ruts some artists fall in. A rut where they create the same thing over and over again, unknowingly.

Pretty ambiance this could be used for, as well. (= Especially in a platformer or something haha^_^

To sum things up, I don't see any suggestions being possible and am merely reviewing to express my love for this piece=P Great amazing work man.

Stay aboard the Newgrounds train, you'll find we make many pit stops, but all hold dazzling spectacles to be had.

date: March 26, 2008

Sent me over the edge of contentment. Without a doubt one of the most impressive techno songs on Newgrounds. No possible way to some this up in words, so I'll give a quaint try at it:)

Everything just felt *right* and where it was suppose to be and got me in that hyper and arithmetic mood that quiality trance gets me in^_^ Simply a great add to Newgrounds and I'm pretty sure you know this good sir. Also, striking title, really loved that aspect as well.
