Consciousness Captured~

"Millions long for immortality who do not know what to do with themselves on a rainy Sunday afternoon." -Susan Ertz

Mortality: the fragile thread of the mortal coil, a decaying process, a dying vassal carrying the legend of mortal.

In the modern day's world, life and procreation is flowing freely as nature intended and we are blossoming as a race. Disregard whatever opinion you hold on the subject of procreation, as such is not the direction this soliloquy is headed. Technology is now so advanced that the only obstacles science still struggles with are the categories of the human condition. Such brings us in the pursuit of the life cycle grail. The pardon from death's grand design. The dream of eternal life. Immortality.

Immortality: the consistency of the undying, a lingering shell to become a monument to history's past and times passage, a living epitaph devout of rest.

Everyone fears death. It is the only primordial fact that stays with us throughout our lifes until the reckoning and subsequent epiphany. A shared journey we all must take, it is also the final hurdle in the path of existence. To fear death is by no means cowardly, it is an inevitability. Man is born with a common and unified fear of the uncertain. And there is nothing more uncertain than the blessing or be it, curse of dying. The advocation of this fear comes through our fascination with understanding and explaining the clouded details of the subjects. Mythologies and phantasy's of the potential afterlife. Of which is commonly parallel from imagery orchestrated by religion. Talks of vast prairies in a never ending summer. A light so bright it soothes all anxiety and a voice so pure it purifies the soul. A sanctuary. Paradise. All a conception based upon faith and belief in it alone, perhaps is most legible example of faith. The only time religion doesn't seem so auspicious or corrupt. For something so little and so innocent can comfort one and dispel the fear of death is a blessing.

As for immortality, I believe we are all confused as to what it truly is. A misconception on our own parts. The majority of us far too busy seeking the elusive syrum, or mythical talisman that will grant the consumer removal from times current and fate's tide. Maybe immortality is a lot closer to mind than we thought and instead of trying to create it, we have to accept it. Maybe true immortality isn't what we do or what we say, what lineage or heritage we leave behind, but how we live in the moment. Through the acceptance of our own fears we become immortal. Someone, who rather than fears and postpones the death cyle, but acceptance the factor of his own mortality and in doing so becomes immortal and fearless.

Maybe immortality is the second before we're about to die. The instant you know that your time for this world has long since left you, perhaps in that moment if you accept it, you are truly immortal, immortalized in death. After all, whoever said immortality was in this plane of existence?

"I don't believe in an afterlife, so I don't have to spend my whole life fearing hell, or fearing heaven even more. For whatever the tortures of hell, I think the boredom of heaven would be even worse." - Isaac Asimov (Author)

We spend our whole life trying to stop death. Eating, inventing, loving, praying, fighting, killing. But what do we really know about death? Just that nobody comes back. Then there comes a point - a moment - in life when your mind outlives its desires, its obsessions, when your habits survive your dreams, and when your losses...
Maybe death is a gift...

The Fiction Is As Follows~

Current Observational Infatuations:

My Mayflower is still ever elusive and am beginning to wonder if I shall ever find her.

Life is pretentious. Embrace it's buoyant nature or fall behind. Everything you want, you can have if you try. Everything you sit wishing for will never come due to the irony of get-off-your-lazy-ass-syndrome.

I still think this planet is a zoo with the illusion of sophistication, a domesticated cage we think we control, yet we suddenly cast a stray eye to the God/s above when ever things go wrong. Control is merely a disguise for something more palpable there is not a word for.

I have found a reason to waste words finally. Words are something we all have when everything else means nothing. Through what we say, we are perceived and we exist. The Existentialist fingerprint, if you would be so kind.

Were all just cogs of a corporate machine, a never ending climax working against that marvelous turn dial of infinite resolutions.

I have been gaming more than most these last few months, but my 360 died due to this, so I am currently playing Guitar Hero games with added fervour. RPG's tend to be a lifestyle of mine and devours many of the hours of my life ^_^

I have a job and it isn't half bad when I get paid on time.

Thus concludes this malleable soliloquy.
